"District officials have declined to provide details..."

Saddleback College faculty perplexed over sudden departure of school president Gregory Anderson
(OC Reg)
A day after officials at Saddleback College announced President Gregory Anderson had been replaced by Acting President James Buysse, two internal emails have provided the only bits of information, leaving confusion among employees, a faculty representative said. . . . The scant information has left the 400 full-time and 1,400 part-time employees at the 25,000-student college confused, said Mark Blethen, president of the South Orange County College District Faculty Association, representing faculty at Saddleback and Irvine Valley colleges.
“The only statements that have come out have been the very vague emails,” he said. . . . “We were all blind-sided by it,” he said. “The timing is odd that it comes so close to the end of the semester. . . . “We’re all puzzled,” Blethen said. “I’ve had a lot of calls from faculty.” . . . District officials have declined to provide details about Anderson’s departure.

It will probably appear in the next Accreditation Report.

Maybe he took the manager's position at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, Inc.

More importantly write about our friend Terry Thorpe who recently passed away.

We are saddened to inform you of the passing yesterday of our IVC colleague Terry Thorpe - Professor Emeritus Business Sciences. At this time, a private family-only graveside service is planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. We will share further details once they are confirmed.

I always think they can ado a bit more to recognize the career of someone like Terry - after all, many people were not here when he was. Wasn't he founding faculty? didn't he teach for 30 years? A few more sentences please Glenn.

Could this has anything to do with the attitudes of people on high encouraging newly hired staff to "stay in the closet" if they want to succeed?

Yes, our President could have said more about a founding faculty member. Yes, he taught for over thirty years. But could The Dissent also post a tribute to founding professor Terry Thorpe? It seems time.

Terry was adored by his students for decades and his colleagues loved him. Rest in Peace Sir and thank you for representing the best IVC has to offer.

Glenn has Diane write his copy. The Dissenters teach classes. They do what they can with what they have. Too bad we don't have a student newspaper which could cover events like Terry's passing.

Anderson appears to have landed some gig at The RP Group where Craig Hayward also works. Some non-profit think tank.
