Massive news media failure uncovered by Matt Taibbi

Move Over, Jayson Blair: Meet Hamilton 68, the New King of Media Fraud (Racket News)

The Twitter Files reveal that one of the most common news sources of the Trump era [Hamilton 68] was a scam, making ordinary American political conversations look like Russian spywork

Matt Taibbi

…If one goes by volume alone, this oft-cited neoliberal think-tank that spawned hundreds of fraudulent headlines and TV news segments may go down as the single greatest case of media fabulism in American history. Virtually every major news organization in America is implicated, including NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times and the Washington Post. Mother Jones alone did at least 14 stories pegged to the group’s “research.” Even fact-checking sites like Politifact and Snopes cited Hamilton 68 as a source….

. . .

The Hamilton 68 story shows how the illusion of ongoing “Russian interference” worked. The magic trick was generated via a confluence of interests, between think-tanks, media, and government. Before, we could only speculate. Now we know: the “Russian threat” was, in this case at least, just a bunch of ordinary Americans, dressed up to look like a Red Menace. Jayson Blair had a hell of an imagination, but even he couldn’t have come up with a scheme this obscene. Shame on every news outlet that hasn’t renounced these tales....

Funny they're now giving TVanNorman the long-deserved IVC Foundation Classified Staff award (too late in the game).

What's funnier is they're now giving most of the awards and positions to non-white! That's what you get when you shove the CRT and DEIA down their throat... now all you've got are Latinx administrators! Latinx rules, yeahhh! LMAO

@11:04 yeah somethin'is fishy..... dig deeper!

7:38pm--- reverse discrimination was worse when he was still here at SCC.

Who was that faculty who was suspended then resigned?

Anonymous said...

It's probably Roy!

Check the recent announcement--newly hired and promoted employees are all LATINX!
DEI IS IT!

In regard to the first two comments, the IVC Foundation awards often aren't meaningful. Chris McDonald received one a year ago for IVC administrator of the year while being booted out and "transferred" to a lesser position. Let's not forgot how he started out at IVC years ago in the first place (after he was booted out by the Saddleback president and "transferred").

Meaningless award..no wonderyour Dean of Humanities got it.

McDonald"s now a Vice Chancellor. Is that position lower than VP of IVC? For obvious reason he was the only black/non-hispanic administrator at IVC before he was transferred.

Chris McD is the Jayson Blair of our district and not just because of his dishonesty and aggressive behavior. Strings were pulled more than once for him to even have a job.

You must be one of those who posts "Black Lives Matter" on social media then stab black people like Chris in their back! Don't single him out--this district is imbued with corruption and hypocrisy. How many black employees does this disrtict have? You can count them on tbe fingers of one hand!

Investiture for fairly new Chancellor Julianna Barnes? What for? Another game that the BOT plays? How about paying more attention to dedicated faculty and classified employees who have served the District for decades! Ban the investiture! Waste of taxpayers' money. Waste of employees' time.

Ridiculously OVERKILL!

7:38pm, the faculty recognition system has become so politicized it's becoming more of a "reparation" system! The more deserving faculty tend to be overlooked, and the recognition system loses its true meaning. Well, I shpuld say there are truly deserving ones.....

Embarrassing.

Nah, it's just a desperate move to show that this department is implementing DEIA.Why do you think "someone" got on the DEIA leadership and started rubbing elbows with the higher-ups? ? ? They're in big trouble you know. Not the awardee's fault!

This seems logical, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=g60ON91ClLA&t=19s&pp=ygUddGhlIHVuaXZlcnNpdHkgZGl2ZXJzaXR5IHNjYW0%3D

8:01, Heather McDonald is right on the money. Very interesting how institutions implement this stuff sans any empirical studies. I believe Roy has argued that same point re. the ever changing accreditation standards.

Many faculty became victims of their own s t p d t y!

On topic. IMHO, Hamilton 68, the Lincoln Project, along with their cohorts in the MSM, big tech, and those "51 intelligence sources" wanted the radical Left in power so bad, that they sacrificed our international relations, namely with Putin. They obliterated our social capital and steamrolled 1960s era Civil Rights legislation. Russia, Russia, Russia! was all we heard for 3 years.

4:05pm: a school's political pawn but lucky young lady indeed! A non-tenured YouTube vlogger---now, that's all it takes to get the most coveted faculty recognition ! Bwahaha !

Roy's obituary in LA Times and Register: "we were lucky to have you while we did"
