Just great! Keep them coming. At Santa Monica, in the building next to the Broad Stage, they have an entire hallway of framed photos from the college's early days. It would be nice to have something like this up in SSC or in the library.

I don't know if Glenn has scrubbed the past as much as he just doesn't seem to acknowledge it much which is too bad because this is an opportunity to show the accomplishments of alumni and staff and instructors as well. I'm in touch with former students who are doing amazing things across the country. they still think fondly of the staff and faculty here. UCI, in celebrating their 50th, has profiled their past in ways that really thoughtful and instructive. I know we are not UCI but we are so much more than commemorative cupcakes too. Imagine an event or an article or something that featured staff and faculty who were around in the early days...we are still here!

It would be nice to have some kind of 30th anniversary show in the gallery or something. Ooops! We don't have a gallery anymore. Maybe a feature article in the school newspaper? Oooops! We don't have one anymore. Nothing quite like spending your career at an institution that will forget you and your students ever existed.

Fall 1990 was my first semester at IVC. I remember that class schedule! Looking at these images definitely brings me back to that "college" feel -- I was so inspired.
