Sunny said "let's go outside"

Got home maybe an hour ago and Sunny the cat wanted to go outside, so I went out there with her, and I took my camera (a D70). Took a few snaps.

Sure was a great day. Looks like it'll be a great night, too.

This one looks out toward Trabuco Canyon, I think.

The one below is looking out toward Rancho Santa Margarita. Somewhere back there on that hill is the Ramakrishna Monastery, which was built by Aldous Huxley and his pals in the early 40s.

Sunny noticed the jet before I did. She heard it and looked up. I like to take pictures of small or distant objects and then blow 'em up. They can look mighty weird. Have a good night everybody.

New look (Attempt #2)

You'll be happy to know that, as far as we can tell, Raghu is in a TOTAL SHIT STORM. If you see him, offer him an umbrella and then smile benevolently.

Raghu, good luck with all those turds.

As always, Dissent takes the high road.

Reviews of the "new look" were mixed. Some readers did not like its blankness or whiteness or lack of pizzazzery. (I was aiming at simplicity and elegance.) Some seemed to suppose that the new look meant a change in the graphic content of the blog (that was not our intention).

Some liked the new look, though their views were not expressed in the comments.

I've decided to try another "new look." It involves the same format as the old blog, but with different colors.

So, again, I say:

Let us know whether you like DISSENT the BLOG's new look.

While you're at it, let us know what you like or don't like, what you want more or less of, in the blog.
