Hey CSEA. Now is your moment to take action on something important for once. What will your response be to the District’s embarrassing policy on leave for parents whose children are out of school? It is devoid of compassion and understanding. Stand up to this. Demand better.

When Gary Poertner left, so did compassion and genuine concern for staff.

I can’t believe that staff is still required to go in and expose themselves. The district seems concerned with making sure students and faculty are as safe as possible, which a good thing. But why the double standard for staff members?

Agreed.

There seems to be mixed and changing messages about this matter plus tone-deaf missives from the district. Faculty and admin need to speak up on behalf of staff.

Roy, it's time to terminate this blog. You are wasting your life. Become part of the solution to what you think is wrong. As it is, you are part of the problem. Move on friend.

Roy, you have solved many problems and exposed others. You are not "part of the problem." Instead of 5:56 AM seeing Roy that way, perhaps 5:56 AM should move on OR just stop reading this blog.

Best of St. Pat's day.

I agree with Bob. Where else can employees engage in critical discussion without fear of retaliation from administrators? The comments above 5:56 AM aren't even toxic, just genuine concern for staff members who feel their health and safety isn't being equally considered. Thanks for this space Roy!

The blog has been essential all these years, part of the solution to a very big problem that is not quite resolved yet. Thanks Roy!

Roy, thank you for keeping us informed all these years. 5:56 AM is clueless.

Way to go, philosopher and ethicician. Like that word, Roy? Keep up the thought sharing.
