Williams prevails in the PA race, riding that incumbency wave — but loses his seat on the GOP County Central Committee (71st district) — ouch, rejected by his own.
Lang is trounced. Trounced. (RodentHouse and Moorlach's pick are now headed for a runoff.)
Nancy Padberg loses her seat on the GOP County Central Committee (73rd district).
Tom Fuentes is the top vote getter for his seat on the GOP County Central Committee (70th district).
Rebel Girl reports that, upon learning of his trounced-upon-itude, Lang immediately repaired to his backyard where he jumped vigorously up and down on a trampoline.
An unidentified rebel also notes that Williams lost big among voters who actually know him (GOP Central Committee) and only won where people have no earthly clue who he or is competition are (Public Administrator). (Observe that 12% of voters voted for Steve Rocco, a loon.)
Congratulations, Don. But dude, your new competition is way better looking than you! (Democrat Melissa Fox won with 75% in a two-way race.)
Congrats to Melissa also!
Dave, if you need help paying yourself back that $100K loan, well, I guess you're screwed. You can ask Tom for help.

Perhaps Mr. Lang now understands betrayal, the disappointment of being on the wrong side and the payback one deserves for lying, misrepresentation and treachery
Can you imagine what power Dave Lang could have had had he relied on the good will and support of the faculty, staff and students?
But no, Dave had to make a deal with the dark side, - and you know, that never works out well.
Karma indeed.
I like how this district is a microcosm of the county and the state. It's sort of wonderful - and awful.
When does Don resign?
When does Williams begin his gloating?
When does Dave hang his head in shame and beg for our forgiveness?
Please post Dave's concession speech.
Dave's concession speech? It was way short.
He said, "Thanks for the great help, Tom."
Who did Fuentes endorse in the 70th Assembly?
For that matter, how did Tom's endorsements play out in this election cycle?
Sea change - ?
Meet the new boss.
Same as the old boss.
(yawn)
Fuentes endorsed Wagner, but that happened long before the great falling-out. That endorsement may have been important early on, but Wagner collected other more important endorsements later.
The Fuentes endorsement seems to have been important to Lang, who was trounced. Lang listed Fuentes' endorsement as among his top three.
I don't know. Perhaps Fuentes is poison. On the other hand, he won for his central committee seat (GOP).
I was careful to tell people who asked that while Lang may have indeed be qualified to be the county treasurer, I was not going to vote for him because it seemed clear to me that he put his own self-interest above all else -and that he could not be trusted.
The fact that he took so much money and goodwill from all of us thoughout the years and then never explained his "change of heart" still riles. use people while you can, eh, Dave? Then throw them under the bus. Plus all the stuff he later said about faculty. What a rat.
Lang loaned hismelf a 100K? Who'd he think he was Meg Whitman? Carly? Arnold?
At this level, if you can't riase money from supporters, you're gonna LOSE. If they don't give you money, they don't want you. If you have to give yourself money, well...
Ah, yes, 10:49, but Wagner lent himself $100K also, and he came out on top.
'Splain that!
The Voice is stating that the Registrar of Voters still has 170,000 ballots to count and will take a week or two. The registrar states that "trends" in these last ballots tend not to change many of the major races. I for one am keeping my fingers crossed that Williams slides down from 57% to below 50%. The final tally for him was 132,931. 170,000 more ballots seems like it could change this race in a major way! Hang in their Callahan!
