Whoa! I need a joint.
"Cronyism" and "nepotism" were charges the Old Guard and Board used to make..until they began to capitalize on it for themselves--a college president who was responsible for his wife's hiring; the girlfriend and friends of a fired police chief on the hiring committee for his replacement.. glowing recommendations for folks they want to get rid of and pawn off onto other districts...
So when do we see Part 2 of your "What the hell essay," Chunk? Sounds like those folks 100 miles down the road want to hear more.
Part 2? Well, maybe. It wouldn't be hard. But I ain't seein' no overwhelming response to this one. Not yet anyway. I was hoping to hear more from people outside our district, who come across our posts at such venues as Blognetnews, etc.
Dot Fortune wasn't a Republican either, Chunk. She was elected as a Dumbocrat and then filed as an Independent before moving far, far, away.
El Jefe Ruiz was a Dumbocrat too, Chunk. Get your facts straight.

Yes, I knew that Dot Fortune started out a Dem, but when she joined the "fiscally conservative" and homophobic board, she pretty much stepped out of that camp. She became an independent cuz the Dems wouldn't have her anymore, plus she had joined professional wrestling. That makes her the moral equivalent of a Repub. A Bushie Repub, to be precise.
As for Mr. Ruiz, I really had no idea what his affiliation was. You say he's a Dem? All I know is, I've never met a person who didn't think he was a jerk.
