This is kind of special. Just wanted to remind everybody. The original five trustees of our college district—the "South Coast Junior College District"—were, during the election, all on one "Republican" slate. ("Nothing to do with the Cal Repub Assembly!" they protested.)
One might suggest that, at the beginning, the Republican Party pretty much owned the district. Ran it, anyway. Did lots of very Republican things that stood out.
The article below is from the Times, Feb. 16, 1967:
Trustee Brannon was a notorious bookie.
Also: The 1967-9 board: the "immorality" of district membership in the School Boards Association; they demand an investigation at the highest levels!
Of course, they named the first college structure after GOP Congressman Utt. Utt the right-wing-Nut.
They forbade long hair on boys.
They made everybody salute the flag.
Plans for the new library are halted: we forgot to design it as a fortress (against students)!

Aaa, the good old days. Thanks for the memories, Roy.
Evidently, we have one reader, and his name is Bob.
No, Bob is not. your only reader!
A friend just gave me this link. Who would want to read your EXTREMELY TOXIC blog!
Thousands, evidently.
It's not safe; neither is it toxic.
Perhaps you are toxic.
