Ti**ypu**y for Secret Service

Good grief! What’s happening with Saddleback College’s efforts to reconsider its “Gaucho” mascot?
Wasn’t there supposed to be some virtual meeting last night? (See Saddleback College's GAUCHO still causes OUCHO & Gaucho Oucho Part 2: the petition.)
I emailed Rebel Girl about it. (My phone is out.) She wrote back that she had been "there" and, well, “UGH.”
     That was her comment.
She noted that some related Zoom event occurred last week, and “this happened”: she provided a link to a bit of a Zoom meeting including folks who appear to be Saddleback College faculty. A “student” named Cole Hersch—evidently, an “internet personality”— asks to speak. So that’s what he does. He advises “murdering” the racist Gaucho and replacing him/it with something he calls “Tittypussy.” He holds up a drawing. His account of Tittypussy is lurid and offensive, near as I can tell. This goes on for about a minute.
These kids today, I tell ya!
He is then thanked for his comment and that is that, I guess. I think some of the Zoom-meeting participants were scandalized. Others may have been entertained. Not sure.
I noticed that, today, the LA Times has a piece about the mascot issue:

Saddleback College officials are considering whether to eliminate the school’s mascot amid calls from faculty and students that it perpetuates a racist stereotype.

—I haven’t read it since the Times insists that I pay, and that ain’t gonna happen.
Rebel Girl may have more about the meeting tomorrow or the next day. Can’t wait. I think she needs to get past that "UGH" feeling first.
Meanwhile, evidently Trump now refuses to commit to a “peaceful transition of power after Election Day,” as CNN puts it.
     Yeah. Saw that coming.
     UGH.
     Tittypussy for President?
     No, Tittypussy for Secret Service!

The college has gone through a thorough series of forums with staff/faculty, students and the community. It seems apparent that the "Gaucho" should go. The board was invited to the 4th and final one.
Trustee Jay's unhinged response to the issue at the last board meeting was embarrassing for her.
However, because of that, the board is demanding THEY decide who the Saddleback mascot will be.
Morons.
