Eclipse Hate: Stand with Charlottesville

The convergence of the eclipse and the first day of school with the shadow of Charlottesville inspired a takeover of the sculpture in IVC's A-quad yesterday. Aside from a few students who, unfamiliar with the use of "eclipse" as a verb and seemingly ready to find opposition everywhere about everything including celestial events, misread one of the signs (You're hating on the eclipse?), most seemed pleased to see a response to the latest eruption of intolerance. "I didn't know this college did this kind of thing," said one. "Is there a club where we could do more events like this?"
