Canadian geese and a few green parrots as of late.

Since my mom was from Canada, the folks there refer to them as Canada Geese. We here shift the proper name to the adjective Canadian. Doesn't seem to bother the geese, though.

The purple jacaranda trees were also in Reb's piece that was in the LA Times. Nice of the college to notice their professor had that honor.
