IVC Foundation event

So far, by all accounts, the word is that the IVC Foundation event on Saturday was a big success. Several who attended told me that it was the best such event they had been to in years.
More later. Rebel Girl attended, and she'll have a fuller report.

We missed you Roy! This was truly the best IVC event ever. There were no speeches and the campus was well represented by faculty, staff, administrators and most importantly, students. The venue was great, the food was fantastic and the evening was a fabulous success!

As a long tenured faculty member I've attended a number foundation dinners over the years, but they had become boring and lost their focus of supporting students. I was very skeptical about the dinner this year but the recent changes in the leadership of the foundation gave me hope that we would have a nice event. When I arrived and was personally greeted by Glenn and offered a glass of champagne, I could tell this dinner would be different. The evening was magnificent and elegantly done. The program was focused on the awardees and students and the entertainment kept the evening fun. I am actually looking forward to next year's event!

The IVC Foundation Event was very well done. It was so nice to see so many faculty, staff and students enjoying themselves together.

An excellent event though the lighting was an issue for some.

A really nice event and no report on it. That a shame. Guess people only post about crappy things and when they want to complain.

This blog has become nothing but negativity, another shame.

Well, 10:57, you could have provided a report as you apparently have first hand knowledge. That way the ignominy and shame that permeates the blog could be lifted by your divine intervention.

10:57, this very post was a report of something positive. You don't read very carefully, do you? I wrote: "So far, by all accounts, the word is that the IVC Foundation event on Saturday was a big success. Several who attended told me that it was the best such event they had been to in years."
I then explained that the Reb would have a fuller report later. She's been awfully busy.

Last week, concerning the board's action of appointing Bobbie Jay on the board, I wrote: "By all accounts, Bobbie Jay is a fine and intelligent person and, no doubt, she will make a fine trustee." Is that negativity? Don't think so.
Perhaps you should take a reading class. We offer them here at IVC.

as usual, say something that doesn't tow the DTB line and get blasted. It would not be proper for me to post a review of the event since I was involved with it to a degree. I will say I think it went very well. Was hoping others would step up and comment since it had the best campus turnout in a long time.

Roy, what can I say? Typical defensive Roy. Yes, I can and do read and am equally entitled to my opinion, whether YOU agree or not. Now go back to belittling your poor students.

12:44, I point out that your factual assertions are erroneous, and you call that getting "blasted," as though I've been somehow unfair to you. I don't get it.
You are indeed entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts.

It is fair to assume that the complainer is a student who was confronted with facts at some time in class, and they did not comport with his mind set. Thus, whine, whine, bad old teacher.

Terrific event and a phenomenal change mood and function and yet did Dennis Gordon merit an interview for the position of director? Apparently not. Very sad.
