The Reg regurgitates Raghu revisionism

Raghu P. Mathur
A friend reminded me today that, about two weeks ago, the Register's crack Editorial Board endorsed two of five candidates running for Laguna Hills City Council, including—you guessed it—Raghu Mathur. (See.)
Here’s what the Reg had to say about Mathur:
As a former chancellor of the South Orange County Community College District, Mr. Mathur had an uneasy relationship with employee unions after tough negotiations over compensation and benefits. Nevertheless, he lists "civility" in city government as one of his priorities on the council, along with transparency, accountability and ethical behavior.
Golly, is that what all the fuss was about?
     Nope. Not even close.

Why not write a rebuttal? Probably too large to print.

I would have written one had I noticed the editorial at the time. But it was two weeks ago. Old news, I'm afraid.

Does Raghu really have green skin?

His skin is green because the graphic is actually a photo of an image projected onto a screen in a dark room, maybe 8 or 9 years ago, during a Chancellor's Opening Session. Mathur was pursuing yet another effort to "humanize" himself by discussing his personal story, including his adventure across the sea to America, land of the free. He explained, I think, that he had "eight dollars in his pocket."
