Roquemorean tales, part 2: "principles schminciples"

From early 2008. Pressure group manages to force Rocky and His Friends
to take down all those flags in the Student Services Center.
Glenn Roquemore
"Irvine Valley College has removed the Vietnamese flag from an atrium display of flags from all over the world, in response to threats by Vietnamese immigrants in the area to hold a protest of what they view as an inappropriate honor for the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, The Orange County Register reported. A spokeswoman said that the college was trying to be 'considerate.'"

Jeez this is pretty old

Old? Yeah. "Tales" tend to be about the past.

I forgot about this. Where did they go?

I think they're in storage. I believe that they're owned by student government. I do believe that Glenn lets the students visit them occasionally.

The flag controversy was interesting in that the Vietnamese locals, who apprently don't like repression, are all too happy to repress ideas and symbols they dislike.

Go easy on 'em. It's always hard to adjust to a new culture. They'll come around to the American way of thinking about free speech. It's the natives that I worry about. Especially the right wing of the GOP. Some kind of brain damage, dunno.

Like a flag, Glenn folds.

12:25, I beg your pardon! I believe its the left wing of the donky party that's brain damaged; always wanting to give away the whole store for free & selling the rest of us out, down the river by trying to raise taxes to make us pay for their grandios social experiments that have already been proved failures time and again.

How does that old proverb go?

Doing the same failed experiment over again and expecting a different outcome, is insanity... Something like that, ya know...

4:38, it reminds me of a few god-awful Lou Reed "songs?" all rolled into one. Just makes me queezy and I'm not even on a boat at sea.

I like bvt's song where he says f-you a bunch of times in it. Got anymore like that one?

Yeah, that one's a gem.

Roy's obituary in LA Times and Register: "we were lucky to have you while we did"
