Announcing Red Emma’s literary column in OC Weekly

This morning, our pal Gustavo Arellano introduces a new column:

Introducing Our New Weekly Books Column with the Bibliofella!

Its author? None other than Dissent the Blog’s RED EMMA—he of the literary radio show on KPFK.
Check out Red’s introduction to himself and his blog above.
But please know that, were James B. Utt alive, he’d be all over this shit.

Excellent. Red can write but I do wonder how he keeps all his pseudonyms straight...

Excellent, indeed--Congratulations to Red Emma!

Not long ago I read Jamie Ford's "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet." (Really liked it.) Perhaps oddly, I love reading people's acknowledgments; and in Ford's, there was a thank you to "the faculty and alumni of that last bastion of bohemianism--the Squaw Valley Community of Writers--a group that I am humbled to be a part of." (This is RG's workshop, no?) and a special thanks to Andrew Tonkovich, man of many pseudonyms, among two others.

It made me smile.

Good work Andrew: keep up that creative spirit, that rebellious spirit, that appetite for life spirit.

This is great. Years ago, he used to do something similar in the Irvine World News.
