The Bauer Family Blog

     For those of you who are interested, a few weeks ago, I started the Bauer Family Blog, which will slowly fill out with posts about all things Bauer (and, in fact, all things Sternke—that's my mother's mother's maiden name; it's the unknown quarter of my heritage). I do understand that this blog/site would be of little or no interest to most DtB readers. But some of you seem to be interested.

There are Kooks in your family! Few would be surprised to learn this. I certainly wasn't.

Hey Roy,
I was reading R Crumb and DZ Mairowitz' excellent KAFKA, and it mentions Kafka was with a Felice Bauer (1887-1960) in the years 1912-1917. Any relation?

Matthew, no, my Bauers lived near Stuttgart, in southern Germany, far from Prague; and "Bauer" is a very common German name. But who knows?
