CCCD Chancellor placed on administrative leave

Remember Bill Vega? He came and went (here in the SOCCCD) last Spring in an effort, eventually aborted by Vega himself, to examine our district's "decision-making process." This episode, which remains somewhat mysterious, seemed to have some connection with our colleges' dicey accreditation situation.

Vega had been the Chancellor of the Coast Community College District until 2004.
He was replaced by Ken Yglesias. As far as I know, Yglesias is a respected administrator. The CCCD has had its own accreditation difficulties, but it is nevertheless respected throughout the state.

Well, today, the Reg's Marla Jo Fisher reports that, on Wednesday night, Yglesias was placed on administrative leave. She writes that "The board also hired an investigative firm, Barboza & Associates of Los Angeles, for $295 an hour, along with computer experts Datatriage Technologies for $325 an hour."

Read all about it: Investigators hired, district chancellor put on leave

You'll recall that the corrupt Mr. Armando Ruiz (formerly of the SOCCCD—one of Raghu's handpicked administrative recruits) was at long last unseated from the CCCD board in November.

I'm sensing a pattern...

Today, we at Irvine Valley College received an email from the college PIO. It said:

At this week’s President’s Breakfast, President Roquemore shared a video found by Professor Gary...[R] called “A Vision of Students Today.” We have received numerous requests to share it....

Well, here it is (below). Its message seems to mesh with that of Wednesday's "Opening Session."

Gosh, I wonder if Professor Gary R and Chancellor Mathur communicated? Do you suppose?

Do you suppose Ruiz has something to do with this?

oh, that video - ahem, ahem. It's this kind of thing that embarresses us when colleagues visit from other institutions - simplistic wisdom from U-Tube!
