I arrived on campus—IVC—at about 9:10 this morning and could not find parking in Lot 1, my usual mooring, which sports lots of “staff” slots. I then sought parking in the next best spots, Lots 4 and 5 (out by A200, BSTC, and the PAC), and that only got me caught for a while in desperate student (and staff) vehicular trollery.
At that point, I decided to cut my losses and head to the ersatz parkery way out beyond the soccer field, a kind of no-man’s land that feels vaguely dicey. They grow turnips or something out there. I think I spotted a body. But I did find parking, though just barely.
So, at IVC this morning, opening day parking traffic was bad.
How are things down at Saddleback College, where, I’m told, cops actually tow away creative vehicular desperados? Or maybe they use their absurd armored vehicle to push these cars into a ravine? Or just roll over 'em?

At least they sent out a notice that it was going to be bad. They didn't used to do that. I don't know how the students deal with it.
Many students seemed quite desperate.
Heard that the new director/assist. Dean of Financial Aid was canned and escorted off campus last week. Any insight anyone?
As the VP's 1st choice for the job did not make it pass the hiring committee a rare 3 month evaluation was written. A very well qualified and experienced financial aid professional has been shit canned so the VP can go back to the pool and pull up her candidate. The VP got one of the financial aid staff (who was also on the hiring committee) to go along with the plan. The VP even allowed the staff member to read the evaluation and the director's response. The VP will get her gal, the staff member will get a new position and Roquemore will not get his hands bloody.
I would do some fact-checking on these comments. The individual was not escorted off campus and there is not a person in the wings that you claim "the VP will get her gal" to replace the Assistant Dean/Financial Aid.
Gosh, you damage control folks are up early.
When the true facts are presented, it's labled "Damage Control". I guess that would make the false claims just "damaging"
I followed the directions that were sent to all staff last week about extra employee parking in Lot 2. It has been mostly unused all week.
Yes, I happened across that lot today and it was mostly empty. Helped a lot.
The BOT doesn't care and Glenn can provide any real leadership because he 1) lacks spine and vision 2) has traded any TOO many favors 3) doesn't really care.
Parking is HORRIFIC. Staff have it much easier than students.
