Ex-public admin. set to win college district seat (TotalBuzz/OC Reg)
With just one day left before the filing deadline, John S. Williams, who was forced to resign earlier this year as the county’s elected public administrator, is the sole candidate for a trustee seat on the South Orange County Community College District board.
If no opposing candidate files before 5 p.m. Wednesday, Williams would become district’s area 7 trustee without an election, said Neal Kelley, the registrar of voters. Williams served on the district’s board for 18 years before resigning in December 2010 for what he said were health reasons.
. . .
“I’m not slinking away from anything — I’m holding my head high,” Williams, 61, said in a telephone interview on Tuesday afternoon.
After six months of retirement, Williams said, he has his health back and looks forward to serving again as a trustee. “I’ve got a lot of history there and I’ve got a lot to offer them,” he said.

This is about as bad as it gets.
Don't give up hope. I hear at least one other will file papers tomorrow for District 7. He will be endorsed by a heavy hitter in OC politics. It will be an interesting period from here to November! Stay tuned! Pen Pal
A big kick in the teeth to the bonehead faculty members who voted for jsw. you instantly degraded out colleges, our district.
Tim Jemal and Michael Moodian said they expect to be on the November ballot to represent the district’s trustee area 7
WooHoo
When I see Williams on the Nov. Ballot, I'm voting for him because I'm sick of all you whinny so called educators. It will be my opportunity to stick it to all you know-it-alls!
Yeah you guys are always wanting to share the misery with more taxes and socialism, now the voters can shove it right back in your faces with more Williams!
Hooray for taxes and socialism! And for nationalizing all homeowners' associations! And for enslaving the basement dwellers as tools of the proletariat!
Some of you need to get a clue.
I don't believe that anyone on the district scene proposes "raising taxes." The issue here is that Williams is boasting about "not raising taxes" while withholding the information that there is no need to raise taxes, since the district is funded by local property tax, which has been plentiful. In fact, our district spends as much (or more) taxpayer money as other districts, but that is obscured by the lack of need to pursue bonds.
