Computers Grade Essays Fast ... But Not Always Well
(NPR)

…Some schools around the country are already using computer programs to help teach students to write.
. . .
Les Perelman, director of the student writing program at MIT, is among the skeptics. Perelman recently tried out a computer essay grading program made by testing giant Educational Testing Service.
"Of the 12 errors noted in one essay, 11 were incorrect," Perelman says. "There were a few places where I intentionally put in some comma errors and it didn't notice them. In other words, it doesn't work very well."….

IVC should pay attention to the Chapman case and their own brewing problems with gender discrimination.

IVC has a bigger issue with age discrimination. They should be paying close attention to both issues. The Board is ultimately responsible for the environment of discrimination and harrassment at IVC.

And, wish it were, "IVC Names New Vice President of Instruction."

Yes, we've heard mention of age and other discrimination here at IVC. Any details, 10:00 (or 10:10)? Point us in the right direction at least.

Come on Roy! The fairest blog? Ain't that an oximoron?

I think the "fairest" implies beauty - like mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?

It's not about vanity. Everyone knows any blog can be furthest from fair.

But the Blog is the farist in honesty and attempts at accuracy.
