This "poster" foreshadows a piece I'm writing. Fuentes as Charles Foster Kane.

That seems to sum him up pretty well. Every thing I've read about him since his death is either black or white. No gray scale. They loved him or they hated his guts. Nobody seems to be indifferent. As for me, well.......I'm not a fan, that's for darn sure. Wish he was still around & healthy though, would love to have a conversation with him. (Not sure I'd trust what he had to say, but it would have been worth a try if he hadn't been so sick, maybe)

sheesh Roy, he's dead, move on.

What "piece" are you writing? Did you do the "poster" or did someone else?

Yes, 7:31, we sure don't want any historical analysis of people who have had some influence just because they're dead. For example, why is that Caro person writing about Lyndon Johnson, right? What a waste of time. He should be concentrating on important living people only, like Snooki.

7:59...what a smug and arrogant statement. Did you have your eyes closed the whole time you were typing that? Nothing historical here. The dead horse has already been beaten to the consistency of red slime. We all know his story, his history, his motives, his loony hypocracies, etc. If YOU are not up to speed by now, then HOLY CRAP! What a weak example, Caro? Really? Yes, let's historically compare and contrast Fuentes with LBJ. Tell me more about this Snooki you seem enamored with.....

OK you idiot, I'll indulge you.

Many biographies are written about single subjects--there's another one on Joyce on its way, e.g. New and different perspectives and documents keep being investigated and analyzed. That's why Caro's work is widely considered to be masterful--his fantastic diligence in investigating the minute details of a fascinating person, like him or not. The same has been done recently with Cleopatra, Catherine the Great, Jefferson, and Lincoln, etc.

There's no comparison of Fuentes to LBJ that I can think of, except to respond to your astoundingly dimwitted comment that if someone is dead, not to look into that person's past and influence.

Now go and watch some cable--your favorite show is on. It won't take any thought at all, like your posts.

The dude is dead. A small fish in the shallow end of the small pond known as Orange County.Good grief, let's entertain the idea of allowing his son to sit on the Board. After all, we are nothing more than a training ground for egos and assholes.

Where can I get in on the troll pool?

How 'bout that recall upset in "prog" WI yesterday? Why not write an article about that? Major defeat for libs, their criminal unions and BHO. WI, the new battleground up for grabs! Now THATS newsworthy, yes?

Such a persistent little creature, this troll. Evidently, in his mind, your blog should concern itself with Wisconsin. But not Tom Fuentes. Curious.

When someone thinks that unions are criminal but the Koch brothers aren't, then you know you're dealing with a substandrd intellect and incapable of rational discussion. I'd say ignore the fellow.
