Finals week at IVC: random scenes

Linda and the Reb in the Writing Center. Linda's run the place literally for decades. And now she's retiring. (Click on the graphic to enlarge it.)
I asked the Reb to stand behind this sculpture and raise her right arm. The purse was a bonus. I like it.
Frank and Linda have opted for retirement. It'll be strange without them around
The Reb seemed convinced that this pile of papers-to-grade was colorful and interesting. I'm not so sure. In pots at right are two "oak trees" to be planted in honor of two Humanities & Languages retirees

The Reb runs into a success-bound student: shy, sweet
The Reb's Frida Kahlo socks. Almost as cool as her Commie socks
We bumped into IVC's teacher of the year--who happens to be among four County teachers of the year. She received "valuable cash prizes"
In the Student Services Center
The Reading Lab: mighty busy
In the OC, well, we're flag-happy, I guess
Great skies today
Students taking a final in History
Everywhere you go, there's a retirement party! We found this cake in BZTIC
The Reb: some abstraction for you

Great photos, as usual.

Nice pics.

Is the admin planning to recognize any of the many, many retirements at commencement?

If so, have they contacted the retirees to see if they will actually be in attendance? I remember last time when Glenn read out names - names of people we all knew were not there and then waited, looking around...embarrassing.

Which is to say, I don't think teh administration has extended a special invite and while Glenn may read off a long string of names, I don't think anyone has asked the retirees if they will be attending or not.

I hope you photograph graduation. Your photos are the BEST.

Cool photos.

No -- nary a word to the soon-to-be-retirees regarding commencement - not even the founding faculty among us.

WHAT do people do all day?

Everyone who counts--you know who you are--has said their goodbyes. It matters little that the admin is ever the admin. Thank you for years of loving photos, RB. No one knows and loves this place like you do.
