Blogger, which hosts DtB, seems to be experiencing technical difficulties one result of which is the temporary (I hope) disappearance of one or two recent DtB posts. I am hoping the situation will be resolved very soon.
One of the "disappeared" posts reported that the district is supporting Saddleback College President, Tod Burnett, in his imposition of prayer on next week's commencement ceremony. Plaintiffs of "Westphal v. Wagner" have filed a motion to enforce the recently approved settlement agreement. For their part, defendants have responded with a filing that asserts that Burnett's action is consistent with that agreement.
And so Jones Day lawyers are busy again, racking up the billables.
FUN FACT #1. In the meantime, I will entertain you with some fun factoids. Did you know that Tod Burnett was once vice president of Eva Gabor International, Ltd., a company that makes and sells wigs?
FUN FACT #2. Did you know that, early in his career, Raghu P. Mathur was the stand-in for Bozo the Clown? He quit in a huff when he realized that Bozo's mantra—"it's all for those little rat bastards"—actually expresses contempt for the, um, little rat bastards.

Who is "the district"?
In such contexts, the "district" (typically) refers to the Board of Trustees and their employee, the Chancellor. Further, the "district" is in some sense the "plaintiffs" of "Westphal v. Wagner." --BvT
Sorry. Not "plaintffs." I meant "defendants." It's Friday, and my logic is already on holiday.
Then, may we assume that these people will pay the legal expenses personally? Becuase I sure as hell don't want to.
The defendants (i.e., the board) will seek that plaintiffs pay their legal fees, should they prevail. But I doubt that they will prevail. If, however, we prevail, they'll be paying their and our legal fees. They've shelled out well over $1 million on this case already.
