We've encountered one of this local Republicans, namely Steve Knoblock, before. He came to a board meeting a year or two ago to urge the board to train students to respond to terrorists by throwing books and desks at them.
Really. It's caught on tape.
Say goodbye, people. It's not going to happen!!!
Why must commenters be so inarticulate? 11:47, what is it that is not going to happen? I think it is entirely possible that a contract will be agreed to, though probably not the one that has been proposed. You'll note that, in this very video, Dave Lang, reportedly one of the "no" votes, expressed strong support for the 5% COLA (included in this proposal). Williams obviously has no intention of voting down this COLA, given what he said Tuesday night. Now count the votes. There are certainly 4 trustee votes for the 5% version of the contract: Milcher and Padberg are likely on board (for the 5%).
Williams is disgusting - nothing but a corrupt rat bastard.
The cowardice of some board members and the turn-coat nature of others explains precisely why many faculty couldn't and didn't support the "union"-supported board candidates. I can't believe union leadership believed anything that incumbent board members told them!
5:05 - Hard to follow what you're saying. The union supported incumbents Jay and Williams who appear to be on the right side of this vote. Actions from the past might support your apathy and lack of support but this present situation does not.
