Viva Zapatero! We all look and sound alike, don't we?

Ah, we at the SOCCCD have a special relationship with Spain as loyal readers may remember. After all, we were the first college district to break off diplomatic relationships with the country, recall our ambassador and sever our study abroad program when Spain deserted us on the bloody field of battle.

So, Tom Fuentes' little Iberian heart must have gone pitter-pat when he heard McCain also hold the line against the Spanish in a recent interview with Radio Caracol in Miami, suggesting that, as President, he may not invite the Prime Minister to the White House unless he played nice. The implication was, of course, that Zapatero was a bad boy, a very bad boy.

It's clear to some listeners that of course, McCain doesn't recognize WHO Zapatero is and can't tell the difference between him and, say, Hugo Chavez, or sweater-wearing coca-leaf advocate Evo Morales - even after the stunned correspondent kept trying to help him out. Check it out below.

As Chunk suggests, few in America will care about this or it may even do Mccain some good to be seen dissing those elite Europeans. After all, isn't Spain close to France? Don't they share a border? Why don't you ask John McCain?

It is obvious that John McCain has, as they say, "lost a step." He keeps making these stupid mistakes. I don't want this man anywhere near the button.

He just seems to be reciting some line he memorized - like his VP! Sort of sad.

It's NOT sad, it's NOT funny, it's maddening and dangerous.
