Don can't help Himself

.....Re the latest "prayer" controversy at the district, starring Don Wagner (see Thank God for Don Wagner):
.....After five days, the district has yet to post video of the Tuesday board meeting, which included public remarks opposing prayer at district/college events and opposing Wagner's politicization of the recent scholarship ceremony at Saddleback College. It also included trustee Padberg's objections to Don's conduct at the latter event.
.....I'm not sure how unusual it is for the video not to be posted after five days. Perhaps it's normal and unsuspicious. We'll surely begin to have reason to suppose otherwise, however, after tomorrow.
.....The archived videos are posted here.
.....A friend who attended Tuesday's board meeting gave me the following account of the public comments regarding Don's latest prayerful shenanigans:
...Karla and Carmenmara and their crew made some great public comments tagging Wagner for continuing the prayer business at commencement/scholarship ceremonies. They received a legal opinion from some 1st amendment group saying that the prayers was in poor taste, however not unconstitutional. That memo was the source of Wagner's politically charged comments at SC's Scholarship ceremony. There were a few "taxpaying" mothers who spoke telling Don Wagner that he should be ashamed for using the scholarship ceremony as a 1st amendment, partisan, bully-pulpit. They were particularly effective because they were those "taxpayers" Don and Tom are so fond of and they were obviously mothers as opposed to the "few disgruntled faculty".
.....My friend also noted that no IVC faculty spoke to this issue.

What do you mean by "Him"? Are you saying that Don thinks he's the Deity?

Come on, Don IS the man.

Yes, no IVC faculty spoke to the issue at that particular meeting, but plenty have on this blog, which is, by the way, brought to the district by the two IVC faculty members.

I think this issue is an opportunity for faculty to unite - so, if those at Saddleback who are concerned about this issue make plans to speak out at the next board meeting, consider sharing those plans with your fellow faculty at IVC. Some may be happy to join you - or write letters or...? We don't know what you're doing unless you tell us.

Thanks for being there and speaking up.

Hey Chunk,
With Scott McClellan's new "tell all" from the view of the administrative mouthpiece, maybe it would be fun if we had a contest to guess how many PIO's IVC and the District have had since the gooster. Coming clean after deceiving and lying is such a catharsis. We need one, too.

The IVC PIOs go through a "brain scrub" once they resign, a more thorough and permanent process that is an escalation of the daily early afternoon happy gas that is pumped through A-100.

That way, there is nothing left to tell.

well, THAT explains Al Tello's trademark giddiness!

We need some happy gas over in A-200! Do I have to fill out a work order or what? or is writing this comment enough to get attention to the matter?

I believe the gentleman responsible for editing the board videos retired on Friday. This might explain the delay in posting it on the district website.

How convenient!

The board meeting was broadcast on public television and I believe is set for another one, if it hasn't already been broadcast.
