Thousands of people turned out at the Del Mar Fairgrounds yesterday to urge the Coastal Comission to reject the extension of the 241 toll road -and you know what? - they did! The Commission voted 8-2 after a 14 hour hearing.
Read all about it here in the OC Register.
We're on a roll, folks.

GREAT news!
stupid surfers....
Love the comment from the wingnut who refers to a "mouse you'll never see." Typical self centered thinking from the fringe.
It's not over till its over. Off to D.C. we go!
2:00 has a point; any regulatory agency with bureaucrats/administrators appointed by the Bush administration are instantly suspect, as they are callow and shameless business whores who will do anything to feed a buck to the business interests that dominate the Republican party, all to the detriment of the public at large.
You forgot to mention the enviro-nazi tree-huggers who really believe Al Bore and his global warming freaks. Yes, knuckle dragging Neanderthals love Dubya because he sees right through your bullshit and goes for the gold.
All those cars going slower, if they move at all, are going to cause global warming and destroy the planet. All because 241 wasn't built. It becomes the tipping point. There's no hope for anyone or even the polar bears. Dang. That view won't be worth a farthing if there's no one to see it.
I recall an Asimov? Heinlein? book from my youth where the center planet of the Empire is completely encased in metal with an artificial ecosystem. Earth First! We'll mine the other planets later.
3:57 and his ilk could not care less about the planet or their individual responsibility thereto. Knuckle-dragging Neanderthals? Exactly correct, sir. And W going for the profit--correct again!
Pure moral bankruptcy.
