This is supposed to make us feel good about the new semester?

Keep the little movies coming, Chunk!

It's like a matinee at work!

Some people might not know how to turn them on though (I've noticed this).

All you do is click on the arrow folks - sometimes it takes two clicks - then wait and - voila!

Bash! Bash!

Go Tom!

Troll! Troll!

Really? There are those who don't know to press the arrow?

Must be the trolls.

10:18--Let's see if I've got this. By playing an audio of Fuentes' comments, Chunk is "bashing" him? I suppose if I run aroundn with a photograph of your mug, I'm committing a personal attack!

Wow! What is your beef? Fuentes is correct in everything he says, especially about faculty unions. Get real, Chunk. All the union wants is power to control the budget. Here's some advice to you and your union slugs: Just do the job you're being paid to do and shut the fuck up!

Fuentes is correct? I don't know any instructors who work only 36 hours a week. I know many who work over 50 (e.g., writing instructors). Perhaps Fuentes is thinking of the worst of the worst among instructors. Those instructors are the people who put Raghu Mathur in power back in 1997. Not sure they're even still around.

I've taught in the district for over 20 years, and I don't make $100K a year. The only way that Fuentes can come close to the "100K average" is by including benefits in salaries. But, even then, he's off the mark.

I've heard Fuentes tell IVC faculty to their faces that they (the faculty) actually write the Accrediting Agency's (the ACCJC's) reports on the college. Anyone close to the process knows how utterly false that is. Here, Fuentes lapses into daft conspiracy mongering.

The facts don't seem to matter to Fuentes. Neither do they seem to matter to you, 12:07. You thus refute yourselves.

There's a few of Raghu's buddies on his old side of campus who really rake it in...I mean really really rake it in. They need a forklift to haul it to their second homes!

And when their scam is threatened, they run to their old bud Raghu and, well, let's just say he takes care it. That'll show the dean who's boss. Nothing like an uppity woman to bring out the very worst in Raghu and his buddies.

Can you spell misogyny?

They can't.

I"m shocked, shocked to discover that gambling is going on!

So, let me get this straight. You don't get paid what you think you should for the hours you work and that dastardly fellow Fuentes is full of hot air. Okay then. If that is your thinking then do something about it instead of whining about it for years on end. May I suggest that you simply proceed to an occupation that satisfies your needs? It's your choice. If you don't like your current state of employment, move on. Let me know when you're ready and I'll help you pack.

9:11 pm, lets get this straight -- you don't like something, so you should just pack up your gear and take off? You shouldn't try to resolve anything? I have to ask: what more could Chunk et al do?

Bohrstein, have you ever heard the prayer, "Give me the courage to change the things I can change, the grace to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference?"

You surely have if you're a person of faith. Of course if you're a secular progressive, you may not have yet developed the wisdom "to know the difference."

Yes, let's advocate the old "cut and run" strategy, to take a page from the Rove handbook.

Yes, 6:10, because nothing says "wisdom" like unquestioned belief in something you can't see or hear.

Although you're probably crazy enough to think God is talking to you. Does He tell you to wear women's underpants?
