Wayne's teaching gig

As you know, Wayne Ward is the Director of Facilities and Maintenance at Irvine Valley College. According to the IVC website, Wayne has an M.A. from Chapman University, a B.S. from the University of Phoenix, and an A.S. from Rancho Santiago College.

Does anyone know what his Masters is in?

I ask because, when he’s not directing F&M, Wayne teaches Electronics 102, on Monday nights: Basic Electric Circuits.

No doubt he’s qualified. (Does Chapman give degrees in electronics? I did not know that.)

I mention Wayne’s electronics class because employees tell me that Wayne keeps parking his snazzy Camaro in the RED ZONE behind B300 when he teaches.

We’ll have a stake-out ready come Monday night. (Not.)

Employees also tell me that, a few months ago, President Roquemore issued an email to (F&M?) workers, instructing them to cease the practice of driving their personal vehicles across campus—you know, as if they were the King of the World or something.

Well, according to people with whom I’ve spoken, after that email was issued, Wayne continued to drive his Camaro across campus, especially in the morning, after his “workout.”

Is Wayne an insubordinate and defiant kind of guy? That would be ironic, if true. Know what I mean?

is he doing it voluntarily? or is he getting paid cuz if he is, isnt it considered double dipping meaning getting paid twice by the same district?

I wish Wayne would spend time developing a schedule for maintaining the facilities - that is, spend time DOING HIS FULLTIME JOB.

People have made requests to see the schedule for classroom cleaning - that is, what classrooms are cleaned and when - you know, A SCHEDULE. You know, what tasks are done on a daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis - and when.

Such as WHEN and HOW OFTEN is the floor in A-302 actually swept? WHEN and HOW OFTEN is it mopped?

But Wayne doesn't maintain a such a schedule. He told us so.

A manager who doesn't manage!

Amazing!

9:09 and 10:08 there's never a shortage of clowns like the two of you who think everyone else needs to change to meet your arrogant standards.

I don't believe that asking the director of Facilities and Maintenance if he actually has a schedule to maintain the publically-financed buildings on a college campus is a sign of arrogant standards.

I do believe that it is standard pratice at other institutions.

Things may be bad but I can't believe that there isn't a schedule for each building on campus.

Maybe you guys just need to ask the right person.

I agree with 12:47.

no way does a director of facilities and maintenance not have a schedule!

I am sure that there is and has been a schedule all along to maintain the buildings and classrooms.

Come on.

You guys are building a molehill out of mouse droppings. Or is it a mountain out moleheads?

Anyway, all you have to do is ask the college president for it. Glenn knows, right? I mean, he's Wayne's supervisor, right? He evaluates Wayne's performance, right? This must have come up, right?

i think wayne ward needs to be under a microscope. sooner or later he will cost the school alot of money becuase of not of what he continues to do, but that the district allows him to continue

The president is more concerne about money than he is people. He walks around smiling all day as if you can trust that smile, and seems to be concerne about things on campus atleast so it seems. If the president wont do his job and protect whats left of the schools reputation by getting rid of Wayne then somebody will get rid of Wayne for him. He is getting alot of people upset and tries to hide behind Glenn but soon he will half to come out and face whats going to happen. Its either Glenns job or Waynes and Im willing to bet it wont be Glenns.

Ask the board: How do they expect to build another campus, or build more buildings when they cannot keep up the one's they got?

Anonymous said...

Why do they build new buildings, when the old buildings are falling apart? Why not remodel the old buildings, and make them 2 story. Also they need a parking structure that is 3 or 4 levels...

Has anyone thought that the problems faced in Facilities and Maintenance predate Wayne? That the problem maybe the guys that work for Wayne. Three of them show up to empty one trash can; an effective use of resources or, blatant sabotage? Trash piles up and that is blamed on Wayne; lack of scheduling. Wow, come on. How about blaming it on a lazy staff! Dump 'em and start over. See how that works. Regards, Cracker 182
