Getting caught

.....Today, Tracy Daly informed the district community that there’ll be changes in HR leadership. She announced that “Bob King, Vice Chancellor, Human Resources, will be pursuing his private law practice full-time at the end of April.”
.....Gosh, that’s odd. The fella’s been working in the district for only about two years!
.....You’ll recall that, almost as soon as King arrived, Chancellor Mathur angled to make him the district’s general legal counsel. Trustees soon put the kibosh on that deal. I wonder what that was about?
.....My guess is that the “private law practice” that Bob is now returning to is none other than Legally Nanny, a business started by Bob and his wife that caters to people who want to hire, well, a nanny.
.....On their website, one learns that “At Legally Nanny, we are committed to helping you hire your nanny legally, maximizing your tax savings, and providing you with more time to spend with your family.”
.....The website sports a menu. On the top of the menu is “getting caught.”
.....Gosh, that does sound helpful! Good luck Bobster!

Semi-random thoughts:
I: Did it occur to anyone for even 17 seconds that we might leave his position vacant in a move toward 50%-law compliance?
II: What did he do? Raghu punishes only disloyalty, and it's a one-strike-you're-out rule. Anybody know what it was?
III: Who gets his parking space? (Carmen, are you listening?)

Nice timing for negotiations.

I smell a HUGE rat. What lawyer in his right mind would walk away from a six figure job with generous perks/benefits to go run his own business? I wonder what kind of sweet parting gifts he negotiated for himself (since he can't be bothered sticking around for faculty negotiations) Anybody know anything?

He's afraid of Lee Haggerty!

He couldn't take anymore of those DLC meetings!

Can we keep the copiers now?

(Just kidding! I think many of us were just kidding yesterday too, Chunk - you don't have to take us so seriously! We know a joke when we see one!)

What with the purge of all the Bobs?

First Kopecky, now King.

Who's next?

Sooooo, Bob King is retiring to spend more time with other people's families!

Noooooo, Bob King is retiring to help OTHER people spend LESS time with THEIR families!

It's a kind of public service.

6:45 am who would walk away from a six figure income?--- someone with entrepreneurial spirit who is not afraid to go out and try something on his own. With that attitude he will most likely be successful. He strikes me as a savvy guyand is obviously on a higher pay grade than most of us.

Go Bob!

You and that entrepreneurial spirit of yours!

You're an inpsiration to us all!

I guess someone has to be, that incessant whining ... gets tiresome.

I heard that he always left DLC meetings early.

What DID happen to Bob Kopecky?

What IS up with ATEP?

WHERE did Bob King's big red nose come from, Chunk?

There's that a capella singing group, "The Bobs." Maybe he's going to join them. Or maybe we'll lose a fourth Bob here, and they can form a touring company: Kind of like having another Blue Man Group.

Maybe they'll all have red noses.

Savvy? Well, he does know how to spell R-E-S-P-E-C-T. He gave that little Arethra Franklin demonstration during an SC board forum addressing accreditation issues (the usual BOT ones). I guess he figured that if we learned to spell it we'd learn our place.

Obviously, he's changed his mind about where his place is.

"help OTHER people spend LESS time with THEIR families" love it :D

Hey, 9:08 and 9:11, don't forget to include god, mom and apple pie. Raghu and Tracy, is that you?

Hey, why no kudos for Rebel Girl? Didn't anyone see her picture in the OCRegister today? Good going, Lisa - you rock!
