I don't think that top picture is "Hey." Did you annoy that cat?
The second picture . . . well, you're the expert on philosophy. So if you say it's philosophical it must be. But the glow of the eyes and the bared tip of the fang bothers me a little bit.
It reminds me more of a line spoken by Ruff Ruffman (OK, a cartoon dog): "Humans are said to use about 10% of their brains . . . Cats, of course, don't use any of their brains. They just take orders from the mothership hovering above."
Alannah:
Are you unfamiliar with cats? In the top pic, Tiger Ann is enduring being held snuggly by her "mom," i.e., Fannie. She's used to this. Her look is simply stoic. (Stoicism, of course, was a vastly influential Ancient philosophy. All cats are Stoics.)
In the second pic, Tiger Ann is simply playing with a piece of plastic. This is simply the look of a cat who is interested. I have the same look sometimes. When interested.
I'm familiar (no pun intended). I have a cat on my lap at the moment. Being held by her "mom" explains what I see as an I-own-the-world-and-you-don't look in the top one.
Reading cats' expressions is tough, though, I admit. And they like it that way. Also, my recent experience is with tuxedo and not tabby; that may be a drawback.
I still maintain that the mothership may have been interested in gathering data about that plastic.
Mozart woke up. She says, "Hey."
Sunny says "hey" too.
