question for the new year: how to we announce an Assistant Dean position for Student Services (upon the exit of both Helen and Darryl) and days prior to our break and it turns out it closes this Friday. ah, just like the old Raghu days. It seems players change but not the rules.
I like the way the cat doesn't need notes.
They have a very special system for their very special friends and it all works out very well. What are you complaining about? The absence of fairness and transparency despite public proclamation to the contrary?
They did it on purpose so only a few people could apply. It doesn't matter, they already have their candidate selected. Her name last name is Ornelas and she was mentioned in an earlier dtb article as she is from Cuesta College where our illustrious VPSS Linda F hails from.
See? It all works out! Isn't that nice that she was available and already has friends on staff? Pity the handful who also applied in the tiny window of opportunity! Better luck next time! Glen really knows how to run things! Transparency! Civility! Justice for all!
You guys sound like you think IVC is some kind of public education institution which has to observe laws and is held responsible by the Board and the public and whose leaders should provide an ethical example to the students. Glen acts as if he is CEO of some kind of corporate entity which operates on an offshore island -and he pretty much gets away with it.
Don't you understand? They were under a lot of pressure because they tolerated so much mismanagement for so long - then they fired people and now they must somehow make it all work - at least for a little while until something better comes along.
so I hear the new building is major FUBAR. Insights?
Except I hear that Helen has not "exited" yet.
Has Glenn "unfired" her?
I also heard there was no perp-walk either.
I hear she's on paid administrative leave while Glenn looks for another excuse to fire her that will fly with the board.
He's also pissed at her because of the commencement speaker process (That's why he gave it over to Diane O.) and about her failure to secure Kiana a Teacher of the Year award. Plus she stood up for Amy Grimm last year.
There were 38 of us that stood up and spoke for Amy, so I guess we are all on the S...t list with Glen.
No doubt about it. He and his two VPs are as vindictive as they are incompetent.
Someone needs to go to the newspaper, media. Enough with an administration that does whatever they want whenever they want and not be told one damn thing. They've got us feeling afraid and worried about our jobs. They are not human. Time for some singing.
