The anti-anti-apartheid right

See Red Emma’s The Anti-Anti-Apartheid Right & Memory: Reactionary Means Never Having to Say You're Sorry - in Portside this morning.

Yesterday, at 3:39 p.m., Prez Glenn Roquemore emailed the college community to say:
We have lowered the flags today in response to President Obama’s recent proclamations.
We honor Nelson Mandela by flying the United States Flag at Half Staff now until Sunset, December 9, 2013….

Look up the past of Mandela. He was in jail for what? Mandela killed many people, some were innocent women and children. He is not a hero, he is a terrorist. Gandhi is a hero, he brought peace with peace.

Always good to read Red. Thanks.

I was surprised by Glen's announcement about Mandela as I still recall his email warning us not to be caught watching Obama's inaugural with written permission of our supervisors. Perhaps he has changed.

Dear Anon # 1: So, you are saying that the Righties would have, or did support more unambiguously or exclusively nonviolent peace and justice activists? As, say, MLK and Chavez, for instance? The point of my piece --- obvious I imagined --- was to "look up the past" of people who are consistently on the wrong side of history. Get it? --- Red Emma
