A moment of silence of the lambs

A scary OC artifact
A year ago, Rebel Girl posted about George Wallace’s right-wing politics ("I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever”) and support he received, back in the day, from Orange Countians (George Wallace Comes to Orange County).

From the Wallace-Lemay campaign flier, "Where Wallace Stands" (1967)
Wallace headquarters, Orange
The Reb reported that one of Wallace’s right-hand men, Bob Walters, was still among us here in the OC, and he had come out from under a rock to support Villa Park’s execrable Deborah Pauly, mailing supportive campaign literature with Wallace's mug on it.
Remember Pauly? She's one of those knuckle-draggers who assumes that, if you're Muslim, you're a terrorist. She's spectacularly ignorant.
Lemay
I forgot to mention that, when in Orange on Sunday, I scored a cool old Wallace/Lemay bumper sticker. That’s it above.
No doubt it’s from the campaign of 1967-8. I found it in one of those antique/junk shops in downtown Orange, a town where the likes of Wallace got lots of support. I remember it well.
Evidently, Bob Walters still lives in Orange.
I didn't run into him or nothin'.

Many will remember Curtis Lemay as a notorious Cold Warrior, but some will recall his equally disturbing role in the dreadfull fire-bombings of Japan toward the end of World War II.
I highly recommend viewing Errol Morris' excellent film The Fog of War (essentially, an interview of Robert McNamara). Here's an excerpt that concentrates on McNamara's work with Lemay during the war:

You sure pulled this one out of your arse. No doubt cuz the BO regime is losing legitimacy and FAST. Everyone knows the progressives are the real racists with their racial politics and liberal lies.

Yeah, everybody knows. Please don't feed the TROLL.

I like the aliteration, has a nice ring!

This person is the epitome of an internet troll. No one could really be that stupid, right?

Bauer your hypocrisy is seeping out of your pores. You also seem to have an infatuation of Ragu that shows strong homo-laten sexual feelings that have been repressed. My recommendation is to seek the help of a psychiatrist.

Roy Bauer said...

You got me. I'm gay. Don't know why I obsess over Raghu.
Um, BTW, when did I last refer to him? Can't recall. I must be going through a hetero period.

"Homo-laten"? Maybe he meant homo-laden, as in, "Bauer emerged from the burning nightclub, homo-laden." But that's not really a feeling, is it? More of a situation.
Who is this IDJIT?

Who's Ragu?

I'm contemplating a post called, "My 'homo-laten' feelings unleashed." It will mark my embrace of mental health--and illiteracy. It will sport tiny American flags.

This is important?

Seems to me, Roy, that BO has abused the unlimited power of his govt. to violate some people's civil rights.

As I recall, not long ago you accused Raghu of doing the same exact thing to you and your friends. And you were all over it like stink on shit.

So where's all the outrage, Roy? Where is your pal Carol Soble on this? (Update: the ACLU is in on the lawsuit action!) Where are all the multiple, daily update threads on your so-called "fair" bolg?

Or is it just acceptable to you because it happened to conservatives?

Where's all the outrage over a president who violates citizen's civil rights?

That's the 64,000 lb. elephant in the room. All the PC of the progressives along with their arguments are circular, as in circular firing squad.

Please don't feed the troll

The fellow has the talk radio talking points down, and thinks he understands the concept of "civil rights." No one can whine better than a right winger--they all have a victim complex.

Anonymous said...

Exactly what about civil rights do you think he/she doesn't understand? Please be specific.

Roy Bauer said...

Again, please don't feed the troll

Roy, why do you discourage people wanting to debate the issues? After all you assert your views when you start such threads. And its obvious your intention is to always demonize conservatives. Liberals have had an ugly past too, BTW. Just look at how the Dems fought tooth & nail against the civil rights legislation of the '60s. It took a Republican filabuster to override them.

You complain that folks aren't presenting their arguments academically but when they do, you either belittle them or delete their contributions to the forum. Deleting posts is cheating, BTW. Academic dishonesty, if you will... There have been many good points made on both sides of the issues. Come on man, please don't be so dismissive.

You regularly call posters whom you disagree, "trolls" and "Neaderthals" but how would you like it if folks disagreeing with you called you an Obama Sycophant or an ugly bug that should be squashed? Or how about a bearded clam face?

Come on man, we can call eachother names all day long but that doesn't add any substance or value to this forum. Its unacademic.

Then you instruct participants not to "feed the trolls." Like the conductor of your own little choir. Can't you just be straight with us instead of having to cheat and game the debate?

If you're willing to play fair I will enroll in your Philosophy class next fall.

Sincerely,

your loving "Troll."

Once again, don't feed that idiot troll

But he's such fun when he reinvents history.

Anonymous said...

It ain't reinvented. Do some simple research, pal.

How about that corrupt CA Senator? The FBI raided the office of Don Calderone (Dem). It looks like he got caught taking bribes.

Anonymous said...

Why aren't you worried about his civil rights?

Anonymous said...

Nobody violated his civil rights. He is a corrupt Dem. Why no threads on corrupt Dems?
