"Gala" nets $16K |
Sixteen and a half thousand? Gosh, that’s nearly enough money to buy, say, a new Dodge Dart!*
Wait! Am I missing something? Isn’t that a puny amount of money for such a grand affair (as one of our readers suggests)?
Naturally, Roquemore offered congratulations to those who made the event possible. I don’t doubt that these people are deserving of praise for their efforts. But surely the event’s outcome, whatever the reason, is nothing to write home (or the college) about.
2013 Dodge Dart |
What? Our report made it all the way to Northern California, and ON TIME? How is such a thing even possible? Gadzooks! Alert the authorities!
I fully expect to receive another Roquemoreian email, later this week, announcing the astounding factoid that most of the college’s sprinklers have been operating adequately all freaking day long.
Surely these folks' pocket change alone would have exceeded $16K |

Never send a child to do a man's work. If this is all the money we can raise with a grand "Gala" then heads should roll! What happened to all those Veteran's Angels who were donating $15 thousand each? Can't wait for the "Big Event" next June with 1,500 people expected to attend according to Glen's email. Maybe we can make $25 thousand next time.
Gosh, with 1,500 attendees, everybody needs to give only $11.06 each to exceed the Gala amount!
the number is BS. Only 96 attendees who were mostly comped because of poor sales. After costs for the auction alone they raised about $400. The total is NOT after expenses.
So, they're lying and it's not $16K but only $400? How do we determine the facts about this? Who do we talk to? Surely this can be verified!
IVC PARKING ALERT: Today is Transfer Fair Day - and add to that some event at the Child Development Center - and well, you know it makes for ring around the parking lot - no spots to be had!
Once again, if we could be informed of this in advance, just a heads-up, an email that tells us to plan to arrive 30 minutes early in order to locate parking before class - that would be a great help. It was AWFUL out there. Not only was I late for my 11:00 class but students were trailing in 15, 30 minutes late as well...
Also, students continue to park in the staff lot. I talked to one young male student today as he got out of a car in the staff lot and told him he couldn't park there. He said he knew that he wasn't supposed to but was going to anyway. He was nice about it, smiled and everything. It's a white Altima, license 6CZN621. IVC staff parking pass 7705.
$400 for the auction portion of the event. The rest will lose money big time.
