Embarrassing and truly disturbing lapse of judgment all around. Do they not think we have LGBTQ teachers here? Students? Staff? That many of us have family and friends who of of the community? Or do they just not care? I can't wait to see the photos they will send out next week of everyone shaking hands and grinning.
Thank you once again IVC Prez for your lack of understanding regarding students, faculty, staff and trustees.
Who went? Where are the photos? They always have photos.
All you haters...why would they share the photos knowing they are going to get a bunch of crap for it. I certainly wouldn't.
If Dianne and crew experience blowback, it is because the college has seen fit to support an accounting program by inviting an avowed homophobe and manifest crass opportunist.
Does "hating" homophobia make you a "hater"? The haters here are the homophobes, such as Mr. Reagan.
This is the result of the kind of quiet homophobia that has been status quo at the college for years. When you have a certain high-up person advising a new hire to stay in the closet or keep it at home, you really know what you're dealing with. So yeah, Glenn suddenly shows some concerns for the LGBTQ+ community because he's been under pressure all year to show he actually is responsive to more than the usual suspects he surrounds himself with (What, we have LGBTQ+ students and they are not being treated respectfully?) - but in the same month when he is being all ally-like, here comes Michael "I am proud to be a homophobe" Reagan - what's a guy to do? He's in a tough spot.
No photos! You're right! They are usually all over an event like this but no photos!
