These two have filed to run for Don Wagner’s “Area 2” trustee position in November:
NAME: THOMAS “T.J.” PRENDERGAST, III AGE: 44
OCCUPATION: Teacher/Aquatics Coach
As a teacher and parent, I care about quality education at Saddleback College and Irvine Valley College. As a longtime south Orange County resident and taxpayer, I know the importance of conserving scarce resources to best serve our community, without raising taxes.
Our local community colleges provide affordable education for workforce development and economic recovery, and for life-long learning. Now more than ever, taxpayer money needs to be spent in the classroom helping students reach their potential: preparing academic students for success at the university level, assisting vocational and professional students in the job market, and serving the needs of our community’s life-long learners. We must provide skills for success in the high-tech 21st Century.
As an Orange County teacher, a parent with children in local public schools, and a former community college student, I value the roles of our local colleges in the community. I am proud to help students reach their goals and prepare for a successful future. For many, this will be fulfilled through our community colleges, a rich and valuable local resource. Your vote for me will keep our community colleges devoted to serving our community’s students.
Endorsed by Tustin City Councilman and former Mayor Doug Davert.
NAME: KEVIN M. MULDOON
OCCUPATION: Business Owner/Educator
I’d be honored to serve as your Trustee for Area 2.
Raised in South Orange County, my mother, brother and I have attended Saddleback College.
My professional career includes serving as a Deputy District Attorney in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, sitting on the Orange County Treasurer’s Advisory Committee and owning a small business.
A strong supporter of the community college mission which includes lifelong learning and reaching out to the many students needing access to courses during these difficult economic times, I’ll continue the conservative fiscal management of the college district, which to the credit of the current Board of Trustees is debt free.
I’m endorsed by Board of Trustees President Don Wagner, a candidate for the California Assembly, Trustee Tom Fuentes, Trustee John Williams, Congressman John Campbell, Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, Assemblyman Jeff Miller, Assemblyman Van Tran, and Professor John Eastman.
My educational credentials: Doctor of Law Degree from Chapman University Law School and Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola Marymount University, where I received the Dr. Singleton Award for Excellence in Economics.
An Irvine resident, I’m active in my church, serving as President of the Pastoral Council and teaching Faith Formation classes.
I’d appreciate your vote in November. Thank you.

Anonymous said... ~ So Muldoon is just another sanctimonious little right wing prick, endorsed by the usual cadre of right wing pricks. What a surprise.

Let us pray. "Lord, make Muldoon a Wagnerian."
Of course, he could be his own man.
Hahaha. Hahahahaha!

Regardless, he is probably either (1) a concerned citizen who is truly concerned about a well functioning educational institution or (2) a self motivated creep who's looking at this low tier elected position as a stepping stone for his right wing ambitions which are more easily achieved in the conservative hell of Orange County.
I'm going with (2); sorry for being cynical.
It says he is an educator but I don't see anything about that???????????????
