Pretty funny. Love the guy who lost his speech cards.
Is it true that Red Emma knows one of the writers and is feeding him storylines?
Made my day.
Yes, for instance, there's the story line of the Chancellor--and even some trustees--who give not a shit about the colleges but have their eyes on political opportunities in local GOP politics. Very cynical, that. So unfair.
I hope he writes about Raghu's paranoia and his security stipend. And Dean Howard Densler.
Great. I hope it's as good as its preview.
Buffy was waaay better than this.
Raghu and Howard could rate their own spinoff.
The paranoid college president with the $10,000 office chair doesn't come in until episode #8.
This looks seriously hilarious. Maybe (just maybe) it can compete with the new season of House for my couch-time!

I saw as much of this show as I could stomach last night; it was absolute excrement. No, wait, that's disrespectful to excrement.
How is it that with the significant amount of money and influence that is needed to get a series up and running, such a poorly conceived, written, and directed piece of shit would be the result? What were they thinking?
I din't see it but I am Sorry to hear your report, 9:30.
Too bad.
then again, most TV is pretty awful.
Oh well - back to reruns of Buffy the vampire Slayer!
Okay for you, Reb. I was going to completely pass on even knowing this thing was on television, let alone watching it. But that clip has some funny moments. Now I might have to tune in.
To anyone who missed the showing, and who can sit at their computer for 24 some odd minutes to watch the pilot episode, it can be viewed here [megavideo.com].
Overall, I enjoyed the first episode, and I would like to see a second episode. It was a pretty light comedy, which gave a nod to philosophy (John Oliver not liking how our main character made light of moral relativism had me laughing). I also think Abed, with all of his information vomiting, is my favorite character.
As a community college student, I can't say I know any of these students, and that disappoints me a bit. I wanted less hokey stereotypes.
I'll tune in again next week, but gimme my House already.
Can't wait for the 2 hour season premiere of House. BS
Gee, BS, you and I saw totally different shows.
I was hoping for some sense of the reality of the community college atmosphere (such as with the brilliant "The Office," which captures the enclosed environment perfectly).
Instead, what I saw was a snarky ex lawyer, some dull 28ish looking women trying to be 19 or so, a stupid plot about "stolen exams," and no sense whatsoever of any CC that smacked even minimally of reality. Some slack jawed students wandering around with cel phones and/or ear buds would have helped immensely.
TWO HOURS of House?! Whoopee! I can't wait, either. Is it Monday?
The trailer for this TV series about CC's was so funny; hard to comprehend that the actual show could stink. I'm gonna check it out soon.

Well, I agree with everything you said there. It did seem to promise that reality of the community college atmosphere, and delivered poorly thus far on it.
I can't quite put my finger on it, but I found it enjoyable. Like I said, I will probably be tuning in a few more episodes, and I will suspend further judgment till I pinpoint what I like, or until something I don't like overwhelms me.
BS
MAH,
Yeah-up. Monday 8 PM PST.
Better not miss it!
Thanks, BS. You know, you have the most engaging, kick-ass slang expressions of anyone in this forum. One time, you said (in response to an apology or admission of densitude from me): "Ain't no thang." Loved that!--and have tried unsuccessfully to find an occasion to use it.
And "Yeah-up": Now, that's just way cool (oops; "cool" is not groovy, I know).
Maybe you can offer a tutorial for profs. who need to update their lexicon of fun-speak.
Can't wait for "House"! They really ended with a bang on that last season, as the Chunk-inator reminded me recently.
